Definitely schedule an appointment if you want to be seen in a timely fashion. They do accept walk-ins, but be aware you may be waiting a while. I waited for about an hour and a half to be seen as a walk-in (I accept this is on me for not scheduling an appointment and I fortunately had the time to wait. Just set your expectations accordingly.) For what it’s worth, they did seem to process scheduled appointments more or less on time. There is a digital board in the waiting area showing the walk-in list vs. how many scheduled appointments there are.

There is also no reception or front desk, just a tablet for automated check-in which gave some people problems (and there’s no one around to assist as all the staff are in the secured area beyond the waiting room). Also be aware there are no bathrooms in the waiting area.

All that being said, once I was called back the staff were nice and professional and my test was conducted quickly.

I was referred to Quest by my Health Insurance Provider and my physician that covers the cost of my physical examinations or follow up labs.

Despite having to wait 30 minutes to be seen by the staff and made an appointment, I was lucky enough to be in and out 40 minutes all together. Highly recommend to book an appointment close to your appointment with a physician. And also, Pariss who helped me with my paperwork was a complete joy in this process and made it efficient also.

I recently visited the Quest Diagnostics location in Herndon, VA, and I wanted to take a moment to share my outstanding experience, particularly with the technician named Paris.

Her professionalism and knowledge were evident. I was particularly impressed by her attention to detail and the genuine care she took in ensuring my comfort throughout the entire process.

Paris demonstrated an excellent bedside manner, taking the time to answer all of my questions and address any concerns I had. This made the experience significantly more pleasant for me.

Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better experience at Quest Diagnostics, thanks to the exceptional service provided by Paris. I highly recommend this location to anyone in need of lab services, and I will certainly return for any future testing needs. Thank you, Paris, for your outstanding care and professionalism.

Was seen for my appointment on time.
The staff was friendly, professional, and to the point.
Getting my blood test didn't take long, and I was in and out in less than 20 minutes.

Appointment wait times aren't bad. You're seen very quickly, and the appointment will go smoothly. The three stars are specifically for when went for blood work, and both times the phlebotomist had difficulty drawing my blood, leaving a big purple bruise on the injection site for a couple weeks. The injection site hurt really bad the rest of the day, and I was stuck a few times before they landed on a spot that worked.

I'm sure to hydrate and eat properly the day leading to, and the morning of, and don't really have this issue at my main primary care office.

Terrible experience as a walking because we just kept getting pushed out further and further in time because of appointments ahead. Super slow and understaffed. Quite cold inside too with no restroom in the waiting room or heat. We left with out going to our appointment

This office is understaffed and rundown. I will go to Labcorp whenever possible.

Limited appointments. Walk-in wait time was so long, I left after 45 minutes when it became clear I was still at least 30-60 minutes from being seen.

The check-in process was unfortunate. A kiosk that barely worked and no human help.

To be clear, I do not blame the phlebotomist. This single person is being asked to do the impossible.

Incompetent staffing. Poor operation. Went to the Herndon Quest, Elden st. location just to drop off lab specimens with complete paperwork by physician and was told I needed an appointment to simply do a drop off. When I called the quest main number, I was put on hold for 25 minute to speak to a representative. It was confirmed that Quest logistics expects an appointment for drop off, including going from office to office to find a timely appointment. There are no exceptions for drop off rendering specimens to become outdated for admission.
Look for another lab or return the specimens to your doctor’s office.

They leave the waiting room full of people and then do all the work in the last few minutes of the day. Plan to wait hours! They are probably just playing games and relaxing in the back while people rot for the entire day. They should not allow booking appointments if they are not able to do the work when they said!
