Unfortunately had to visit the medical center not once but twice during my ski strip. Saw a generalist for a case of tonsillitis and trauma surgeon for a dislocated knee. All the staff, from the nurses to the doctor to the specialist were professional, kind, empathetic, and professional. My advice: approach them with humility and politeness and they will do the same. Also, if you haven’t yet, consider getting the insurance on your ski pass. It covers the cost of piste rescue (snow mobile and/or helicopter), ambulance, and €500 worth of care in the trauma center with only a €50 charge out of pocket.

I am writing on behalf of a friend Robert who ended up in this Centro Traumatologio 9 days ago after a fall on the slope. They took X-rays of his ankle and knee (two different legs) and gave him two orthoses. The diagnosis was - nothing broken, the ankle was dislocated and the knee ligaments were strained. After returning to Poland, the ankle was still swollen, so he went to the doctor again. After an X-ray and a tomography, it was confirmed that the leg was broken at the ankle. It is hard to understand how the doctor in Saninont did not recognize such an obvious injury! We do not recommend this place, but oh well - ambulances will continue taking poor skiers with injuries there anyway. Maybe there will be some reasonable alternative with competent help...?

Consultation suite à une chute en ski et choc au genou. Prise en charge correct et rapide, infirmières/techniciennes sympathiques et compétentes. Cependant, le diagnostique a été complètement bâclé.. Le médecin m’a même confirmé pouvoir skier à nouveau 2 jours plus tard. En effet, à la radio, je n’avais rien d’un point de vue osseux. Ce qui est une bonne nouvelle. Mais quant est il par rapport aux ligaments, ménisques,… Traitement proposé : paracetamol, et IRM une fois de retour en Belgique.
Dans le rapport, il est indiqué que je suis capable de marcher « librement » alors que je peux à peine prendre appui sur ma jambe. Une attelle genou m’a été « fournie »
En résumé, très déçu car je considère ce diagnostic complètement incomplet voire dangereux car « je n’avais rien » et je pouvais skier 2j plus tard. Évidemment tout ceci pour la modique somme de 482€.
Dommage qu’il n’y a pas la note 0/5…
Si on vous propose la solution hôpital (+-1h de route par rapport à Sauze d’Oulx, sautez dessus!)
